For our second day in Sydney we booked a wine tour in the Hunter Valley which is about a two and half hour bus ride along the Pacific Coast of Australia. Along the way we made a short stop at a town called, ‘The Entrance’ where the Hunter River enters the Pacific Ocean and which is where you leave the Pacific Coast to enter the Hunter Valley.
The first winery on the tour was Peterson House which specializes in sparkling wines and just recently was forced to remove ‘champagne’ from its bottles.
Next we stopped at Hope Estates for more wine tasting and lunch. Hope Estates is also a music venue which has hosted The Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are also hosting Elton John later this year.
The final winery on the tour was Bimbadgen Estate.
After a final stop for shopping at the Hunter Valley Village, we headed back to Sydney and the QV.
